Never stingy with frank confidences, Julien Lepers agreed to lift the veil on his money. The ex-host talked about salary, taxes and personal wealth with Jordan De Luxe.
On January 26, Julien Lepers was a guest on the Jordan de Luxe show, broadcast on YouTube, The Luxury Jet. For once, the former star host of France 3 was extremely cooperative by answering all the questions without tongue in cheek, even the most delicate ones such as on the subject of money.
Julien Lepers “real estate millionaire” : “I’m doing very well”
No problem therefore for the former host, now 76 years old, to tackle the thorny question of money. Very quickly questioned about the salary he received when he presented Questions for a ChampionJulien Lepers revealed that he earned an extremely good living: “We should have been at 700 or 800 euros per broadcast, it’s starting to be a while, 6 broadcasts per day, so 6 times 7, so 4,200 euros…” But the man whose real name is Ronan Gerval Lepers still wanted to qualify this handsome salary: “You divide everything you earn by 2 and you give to taxes, at that time you had to give 50% in taxes”.
And it’s up to Samuel Etienne’s sworn enemy to conclude on the subject: “We’re not complaining, I’ve never complained. I’m a real estate millionaire, yes. I’m doing very well. But it’s fragile, all of that, very fragile.” Let us recall in passing that Julien Lepers had received 800,000 euros in compensation, granted at first instance in 2020 by the Industrial Tribunal, in the lawsuit between him and France Télévisions following his dismissal.
Julien Lepers is rich thanks to television, but not only that!
A fortune that Julien Lepers built thanks to television, but not only. And for good reason, he is also a lyricist, and notably composed two of Herbert Léonard’s essential hits: For pleasure And Crazy lovers. “I ask to give myself around 6000/7000 euros per month, I get by with that. That’s what I earn just from the royalties from my songs”he told Jordan de Luxe.
Before adding: “When Herbert died – and God knows it hurts me, I think of his wife Cléo and his daughter – but because of his death and during his funeral, the radios played the songs a lot so that’s copyright… There were a lot more the year he died”. Today, the royalty income from this father of two children, Lorraine and Guillaume, would be around “slightly less” of 10,000 euros per month.
