The Jubilee of the world of communication at the diocesan level is confirmed for Saturday 10 May in Milan, an event to which journalists, communication operators, students of the journalism schools and all the people concerned are invited. To reflect on the themes of the morning will be Don Stefano Stimamiglio, director of Famiglia Cristiana. Undoubtedly the death of Pope Francis and the chronicles of these weeks on the preparations of the Conclave offer further elements of reflection on how today the Church is told by the media, between old clichés and new narratives. And if, before May 10, the “white smoke” arrived, the meeting will be an opportunity to listen to some first analyzes by the guests on the new season that opens for the universal church.
At 10 am, in the Manzoni classroom of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, the conference “exit the bubble: communication and church, beyond stereotypes” will start. After the greetings of the rector Elena Beccalli, Maria Grazia Fanchi, director of the high school in medium communication and entertainment, full professor of cinema, photography and television in the same university, will intervene with an introductory report. A dialogue will follow between Monsignor Mario Delpini, Archbishop of Milan, Mario Calabresi, journalist and writer, director of Chora Media, and Don Stimamiglio, moderate dialogue by Donatella Negri, journalist of Tgr Lombardia. The meeting in fact also represents the “recovery” of the traditional annual meeting of the archbishop with journalists and communicators, suspended in January in order not to overlap the Jubilee of journalists in the Vatican.
Already over 200 members, but it is still possible to book your participation by filling out This form. At 12.30 a brief moment of prayer will then be proposed in the Basilica of Sant’Ambrogio, one of the jubilee churches of the diocese. On the occasion Monsignor Delpini will deliver to those present of his unpublished letter to journalists and communication operators, as a sort of mandate to the communicators of the parishes. Participation in this moment does not require registration. To complete the initiatives, from the afternoon of Friday 9 to the morning of Monday 12 May, the exhibition “Communicating hope – another information is possible”, promoted by the San Paolo company and by the daughters of San Paolo, with the patronage of the Dicastery for the evangelization and the dicastery for communication, will be visited in the cloisters of the Catholic University.
