Between 2022 and 2024, they were more the target of burglars, and it is not Paris!
It is the obsession of everyone, tenants as owners: to be a robbed day. The idea of pushing the door from home and falling on an interior upside down, the forced lock, the drained drawers, the affairs scattered on the ground and certain valuable objects. This undeniably causes a shock. After that, the victims no longer really feel safe at their home. And this danger is no longer limited to large metropolises like Paris, medium -sized cities are now also in the viewfinder of burglars. In any case, this is what the latest figures from the Ministry of the Interior have shown, on the number of housing burglaries identified in France.
By crossing these data, our colleagues from Parisian have established a classification of the most targeted cities today. The municipalities were divided into three categories according to their population: more than 100,000 inhabitants, between 20,000 to 100,000 inhabitants and then from 5,000 to 20,000 inhabitants. “First observation, burglars spare little cities with more than 100,000 inhabitants” because “flight opportunities are stronger”specifies the daily.
But what is particularly striking is that eastern France is gradually becoming their favorite hunting ground. According to figures, since 2022, the authorities have noted an increase in burglaries in Metz and Nancy. The third and fourth place in the ranking are then occupied by the cities of Saint-Etienne and Grenoble. If we slightly diszoom the map of France, the situation is even more critical in another region …
Indeed, always according to The Parisianthe Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, where the cities of Lyon, Saint-Étienne, Grenoble, Clermont-Ferrand and Villeurbanne are located, records records “One of the highest burglary rates in the country and close to that of Île-de-France (around 6 per 1,000 dwellings).” On another scale, Marseille, Aix-en-Provence and Paris still remain the cities where “The accommodation is the most forced (measured by the burglaries rate for 1,000 dwellings)”. One more reason to remain vigilant, especially when approaching the long holidays!
