By becoming the host of “Fort Boyard” this summer, Cyril Féraud realized his childhood dream: taking the reins of his favorite show. But before television, he went through the summer job box. And he doesn’t have very good memories of it…
Every Saturday in the summer, Cyril Féraud is at the helm of Fort Boyardthe flagship game of France 2. By taking Olivier Minne’s place, the 41-year-old host made his childhood dream come true, but the road was long!
Cyril Féraud marked by his first summer job: “The most painful two weeks of my life!”
Because before arriving on television, Cyril Féraud also had a series of summer jobs. As told on the microphone of Europe 1 the brand new loyal gentleman of Fort Boyard, he started working at a young age. Before television and success, Cyril Féraud was first a supervisor in a water park in Sainte-Maxime in the South of France. He was only sixteen years old then. But this little job only lasted 15 days because he never found his place there.
“I had to watch the children and explain to them that they had to stay seated at the bottom of the buoy”he explained. Before letting go: “There was always one who left at the top of the slide while remaining standing or with his head forward…”. He has a particularly unpleasant memory: “This job was the most difficult two weeks of my life!”
Cyril Féraud: the first job he was given at Fort Boyard
The tide then quickly turned for the father of Tim, aged 2, since he became host of a number of games on France 2, such as Everyone wants to take their place or even 100% logical. But before that, he had been called by the production of Fort Boyard for an intern position. It must be said that he didn’t really leave them a choice… From the age of “14/15 years old”the young man sent letters to the game’s production to submit ideas.
“It’s a love story since I was 5 years old when Fort Boyard started on TV, and it’s the show that made me want to do my job“, he explained to Domingo, Baghera, ZeratoR and Clemquicourt in a live Twitch live from the Fort. And it was up to him to continue: “I was sending test ideas to production (…) until the day the boss of the production company called me to say ‘I would like to meet you, your ideas interest us’”. Finally, Cyril Féraud was hired by the team: “I started as an intern on the Fort, I was the candidates’ nanny, I explained the tests to them, I was 18 years old”. A beautiful story that continues to be written!
