A study has just revealed the best city in France to party without breaking the bank. And what’s more, the atmosphere is particularly dynamic with multiple bars, nightclubs and casinos per square kilometer.
If the idea of a festive weekend with friends appeals to you, know that a French city is highly conducive to it. While some cities are today renowned for their cultural heritage and history, others shine with their ability to offer memorable evenings, where partying is king and prices are affordable. Forget the exorbitant prices of the capital, it’s a little further south that it’s happening.
A recent study conducted by Top10DesCasinos.com revealed the most festive city in France by taking into account the number of nightlife establishments, the price of drinks, taxis and public transport tickets. In second and third place are Lille and Villeurbanne. With a score of 80.71/100, Lille wins the silver medal with 10.72 bars and 0.34 nightclubs per km². As the study specifies: “The capital of Flanders offers a lively nightlife without being overwhelming. The average price of a beer is 5.92 euros and a glass of wine 6.52 euros. As for the price of a taxi ride, it is around 2.15 euros per kilometer compared to 1.81 euros for the price of a public transport ticket.
Villeurbanne, neighboring Lyon, is in third place on the podium with a score of 80.71/100. With 5.92 bars per km², the study highlights that “its nightlife is enriched by a diversified offer despite a lower density of nightclubs”Beer is a little cheaper than in Lille since it costs on average 5.42 euros and the price of a taxi ride is almost unbeatable since you will only have to pay 1.08 euros per kilometer.
But the city that meets all these criteria at once and wins with a nice score of 85.19/100 might just surprise you. There, bars, nightclubs and casinos abound, beer costs an average of 5.49 euros, taxi fares are 1.84 euros per kilometer and transport tickets are 1.60 euros.
