The letter of the prisoners of Regina Coeli to the Pope.
The prisoners of Regina Coeli also pray for Pope Francis. They did it with a letter
handwritten, read during the Mass on Sunday morning in the Roman penitentiary, and
delivered to the chaplain, Father Vittorio Trani. In the letter, Christian prisoners are combined and
Muslims, to ask for the fast shooting of the Pope who visited the prison in via della
Lungara, in the central district of Trastevere, on March 29, 2018, Holy Thursday. To the prisoners he had
Confided to his health problem: cataracts. And had used, as always happens during the
visits by Francesco in prison, words of mercy: «There are people who know, who are discarded by
Society, at least for a time, and Jesus goes there to tell him: ‘You are important for me’ ». Words of a ff eletto e

Holy Father, we are the prisoners of Regina Coeli, often judged badly by our actions, perhaps
even with reason.
But our hearts are full of feelings and love. She, Holy Father, said it would be
came to visit us here in Regina Coeli. Please get back as soon as possible, to keep the
promise made.
This is a wish for a speedy recovery: it is given to you by the whole population detained, both
Christians who Muslims. We all together pray for her.
