No need to go to the ends of the earth for a honeymoon. A study has just revealed the ranking of the most popular destinations for newlyweds, and two European countries have made it into the top 3.
The honeymoon has evolved well. If couples used to choose to leave almost immediately after the wedding, that’s not really the case anymore. Most newlyweds wait for the right season, and after organizing the reception, they prefer to take a breather and take the time to plan the trip of their dreams, while saving money. Some couples also choose short periods to get away for a weekend rather than a stay of one or two weeks. And according to a study conducted in the United States by Journo Research, the most distant destinations are not necessarily the most popular.
By analyzing searches typed on Google with the keyword “honeymoon” and tourist places, a ranking of the favorite destinations of newlyweds could be established. We still find, in first position, Hawaii, with an average of more than 12,000 searches. The heavenly beaches, lush nature and volcanoes make it a key honeymoon destination. As for the Maldives, Bali or even the Caribbean, these tourist places arrive after two European countries. Indeed, Greece and its islands are in second position in the ranking, with more than 8,000 clicks per month, and Italy is positioned third, tied with Bora Bora. La dolce vità indeed attracts lovers, particularly on the Amalfi Coast. Other places located in Italy are particularly popular for their romantic and chic side, such as Tuscany, Venice, Lake Como and Puglia.
“Whether it’s the beautiful beaches of Hawaii, the cultural richness of Greece and Italy, or the secluded luxury of Bora Bora, these findings provide valuable information for both travel agents and couples who independently plan their honeymoon” commented the Mark Broumand jewelry brand for which the study was carried out.
