Having a space to store your clothes cleverly is good, as long as they are not in plain sight. Saving space and trendy, the idea of this interior designer makes a clear space and brings everyone into agreement.
Welcome to Pré-Saint-Gervais, in Seine-Saint-Denis. Bought new by a couple in their forties and their two children, this pavilion was, of course, in great condition, but it sorely lacked the personality to find favor in their eyes. In order to create an interior in their image, they called on Studio Zerck and opted for a partial renovation. Living rooms, bathroom and master bedroom were on the program for Clémentine Pautrot, the interior designer in charge of the project.
In just over two months, the space was completely redesigned to breathe character into this new house, which was considered too standard upon delivery. The owners, a little disappointed by their off-plan purchase, found the place without charm and not very functional. They dreamed of a warm haven of peace, better suited to their daily lives and faithful to their desires and needs. Mission accomplished for Clémentine Pautrot who had carte blanche and mixed colors, materials and tailor-made storage. Result ? Colorful spaces, bathed in light, bold and full of life.
On the bedroom side, its L shape offered a perfect place for a dressing room, unfortunately poorly designed, and for the boiler space in the fireplace – a technical constraint inherited from the plans of the new house, which was completely out of place in the master bedroom, let’s be honest.
Cleverly hidden in a false cupboard with double arched doors, the boiler has completely disappeared from the visual field. The dressing area, for its part, also hides its game well in a nook and is accessible through an arch opening, which also looks great. In order to bring softness and character, the choice of materials proved decisive: quality fabric curtain to close the dressing room and seagrass on the floor. Also, an orange-red facade (L’Amuse-Bouche de Ressource shade) brings the whole thing to life and warms up the atmosphere.
It just goes to show that a small change can make a big difference, as long as you do it tastefully. The couple’s bedroom finally combines aesthetics and functionality thanks to a great lesson in ingenuity by Clémentine Pautrot.
