A dress that goes from a wedding to a stroll by the sea without staining is worth paying attention to. At Kiabi, a model priced at just 20 euros ticks a lot of boxes. The proof, we tried it.
In summer, we often want a dress that we can put on without asking a thousand questions. Not a piece that will only come out of the closet once, but a model that can keep up with vacations, weekends and last-minute invitations. This is precisely what Kiabi offers with a dress that is a hit with customers. Its price necessarily catches the eye, but that is not its only argument: its cut suits many body types.
Once worn, you immediately notice what makes it strong: it is perfectly fitted at the waist. The silhouette immediately appears more slender, and the length of the dress as well as its buttoning from top to bottom reinforce this effect by elongating the line. What’s more, the fabric is ultra-fluid and accompanies movements with femininity. We walk, we sit, we spend the day outside without feeling like we are wearing an outfit that is too dressy or too rigid. A small reservation however: this fluidity has a downside, the material creases quite quickly and marks creases as soon as you sit for a long time. Nothing prohibitive, but a blow of iron before going out is not too much.
Another advantage: the sleeves which fall just above the elbow. When you have arms that you’re looking to sculpt, this is a particularly flattering cut. They refine the upper body and accentuate this chic side. Finally, as for accessories, the model goes very well with flat sandals, a wicker basket and sunglasses. Simply replace the shoes with a pair of heels, add some jewelry and a clutch, and the same dress becomes completely suitable for a wedding, christening or family celebration.
The model in question is none other than the long shirt dress with all-over tie belt in brown. It actually has a belt, allowing you to further accentuate the waist if necessary. For us, we preferred to remove it for a more modern style: the loops are not visible and the cut is more than enough to highlight the waist. We also regret that the choice of colors remains limited, because this brown, as pretty as it is, will not suit all complexions. A small downside also on the length, designed for rather tall silhouettes: below a certain size, a hem will undoubtedly be necessary.
Good surprise however, it has pockets. A detail that couldn’t be more practical when it comes to slipping in a handkerchief for the bride’s speech or a hair clip to quickly connect your hairstyle. In short, despite these few reservations, it’s difficult to deny its pleasure: at 20 euros, it has largely convinced us and we can’t wait to wear it all summer.
