6,000 m² of aquatic adventures are what awaits visitors to this famous European amusement park from the summer of 2026. A unique novelty in the world, which will not fail to appeal to families and thrill-seekers.
Just like seaside holidays, with their sand castles and beach volleyball games, water parks have become a must for family summer holidays. Parents lounge in the sun, perhaps with a small cocktail in hand, while children have fun in the slides, wave pools and other attractions: the ideal compromise between refreshing swims and exhilarating adventures to tell about with friends at the start of the school year.
To best attract customers during the hot summer days, leisure parks are redoubling their efforts to offer ever more novelties and sensations to visitors. And indeed, a famous European park has pulled out all the stops for the 2026 season by presenting its brand new 6,000 m aquatic area2which will notably include a water coaster unique in Europe, as well as an adventure pool unique in the world.
This new area will be an extension of the Caribe Aquatic Park, the aquatic complex of PortAventura World, a famous amusement park located in Spain about an hour from Barcelona. Named “Coral Bay: The Lost Legend”, this district was imagined as a pirate bay “remained submerged for centuries before resurfacing from the depths of the ocean”. In addition to its new slides, its new catering area and its new paddling pool for the little ones, what makes Coral Bay unique is this adventure pool and its aquatic obstacle course never seen elsewhere, designed to be an interactive experience in the water rather than a simple swim. If PortAventura has given very few details for the moment, we understand, however, that this new feature promises thrills and new sensations for the whole family.
As for the new water roller coaster “unique in Europe”here again, PortAventura maintains the mystery. We can therefore imagine that it will be a large water coaster like the American or Asian parks already offer, which will offer a unique combination of sensations and technology. But we will have to wait until summer 2026 to discover these promising attractions.
In addition to this new aquatic area, PortAventura World has announced another new feature for summer 2026. This time it is a treetop adventure course, entitled “Makamanu Jungle: The Adventure Trek”, which will be inaugurated in the Polynesia area of PortAventura Park. Secret walkways, suspension bridges and other acrobatics are sure to delight young (and old) explorers. Between a calm summer by the sea or a vacation full of sensations, you’ll have to choose!
