But very often, children who are responsible for the parent live far or do not always have time to visit him regularly. And over the years, it becomes more and more difficult for them to move and manage everyday life such as cleaning, races or meals.
Fabien, 40 years old, has been invested in the senior service for a few years by offering meals adapted to their diet. Without salt, diabetic, hyposoded, mixed or easy to eat … “We offer no less than 18 menus adapted to the needs of the elderly and we deliver balanced daily meals “. A beneficial and above all reassuring aid for the most distant families. From now on, they know that their parent feeds properly and every day. But sometimes, this simple delivery of meals goes far beyond what one could imagine, as the manager of the company Clapstoche, located in Maison-Alfort, in the Val-de-Marne.
“”I would never have thought that by exercising my job, I would save the life of the elderly“, He testifies. Indeed, a simple delivery of meals sometimes turns into alert.”Now I know that it can happen to open the door and find someone lying on the ground or in the process of unwell. “ With his team, they immediately warn the emergency services that arrive at the scene to take care of the person. But what happens most often is the fact of alerting the family to the health of their loved one. “By being in contact with our customers on a regular basis to order the menus of the week, by phone or at home at the time of the delivery of meals, we quickly realize that the person is losing their memory, that they live badly, or that they need medical care”, explains Fabien.
Generally, the family is not really aware of the situation and that is the reason why Fabien likes the job he does: “In addition to deliver meals to people who need it, I feel useful on a daily basis. I realize that we are sometimes the only ones to take the doorstep, and I sometimes be the only interlocutor for some of my customers“. A job he takes to heart.
