At the age of 28, he collects titles and is never afraid to wet his jersey. Today, he opens the doors of his childhood home to us and we can’t deny our pleasure because it’s so beautiful!
Immersion into the heart of the roots of an athlete that nothing seems to be able to stop. It is to Castelnau-Magnoac, in the Hautes-Pyrénées, that this oval ball prodigy invites us. Crowned best player on the planet at XV in 2021, he has just been elected best player in the world of rugby 7, just a few days after celebrating his 28th birthday, no less! The one nicknamed the Minister of the Interior, many times captain of the XV of France, is none other than Antoine Dupont. A child of the South-West who, by all means, returns there, he transforms the essay with this beautiful childhood home, where he likes to reunite with his family.
And who says family domain, says friendly spaces conducive to sharing, anecdotes of course and good meals too. While the ground floor features a large living room with cozy lounge, huge fireplace, terracotta floor and dining room, all open to the outside. Upstairs, the spaces are more intimate, but still numerous and warm, to receive family and friends passing through the area. There are several bedrooms, including the main one, imagined as a cocoon under the exposed beams and whose adjoining bathroom offers a breathtaking view of the garden, equipped with a bowling alley, because there is not only the rugby in the life of Antoine Dupont! The house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms in total.
Let’s take the time to delight in the careful decoration of one of them. Tinted with sage green as a headboard, it brings together all lovers of pretty ambiances, whether they are fond of ovals or not! For this champion in more than one way, his family home is a place full of memories. On the wall of this night room, old jerseys are framed.
The opportunity was too good to pass up, some of his greatest trophies and medals are displayed with humility, always. On the left, the Brennus shield, perhaps his fourth, won this year with Stade Toulousain and synonymous with their coronation as champions of France during the Top14 final. On the right, Antoine Dupont, small and already piqued by the passion for rugby and a photo of him, become Olympic champion in rugby 7, his gold medal proudly around his neck.
After winning a competition organized by Airbnb, a very lucky family was able to stay here during the All Saints’ Day holidays and we have no doubt that they had an exceptional time, alongside this champion who will never stop to make us vibrate.
