Lynda Lemay reveals her “city of hearts” in France
Very attached to the French public, who have always given her the warmest welcome, she even cultivates a certain cult for one of our regions: Brittany. And for good reason, as she revealed to our colleagues at Brittany News on the occasion of his visit to the Paimpol Sailor Song Festival last year, “it was in Brittany (that she) took (her) very first steps on stage in France”. “This show remains to this day one of my fondest memories of my career because it was there that I discovered that an audience was waiting for me in France! The connection was immediate, the magic happened from my first notes. I am still very moved by it”she even added.
And to the Quebecer, in love with Brittany, to conclude: “Every time I come back to Brittany, the same emotion rises in my heart. I feel at home there”. Moreover, she did not fail to recall her attachment to Saint-Malo after a date in Breton lands. “Saint-Malo, city of heart, and you proved it to me again yesterday”she wrote last January on her Facebook account.
Lynda Lemay: her astonishing tattoo in homage to a French region
Recently, Lynda Lemay even revealed to our colleagues at TV 7 days that she carried within her the indelible trace of this much-loved Brittany. The artist actually got a tattoo in homage to Saint-Malo! “I got a tattoo on my wrist last summer with ‘Saint-Malo thinking’ so that I would never forget the state of intense joy I was in when I played there, in my very beginnings, invited for a festival in Brittany”she confided.
And for this mother of two daughters (Jessie, born from her love affair with Patrick Huard, and Ruby, born from her romance with Michael Weisinger from whom she is now divorced), to remember: “I was an unknown, but what a pleasure to be on stage and to have people listening to me”.
