You may have never heard of this profession. And yet, the average annual salary of those who have been exercising it for a few years is 55,000 euros, or around 4,500 euros per month depending on data from Beartsite specializing in the world of business and entrepreneurship. A significant sum, especially when you know that this job requires no diploma. It must be said that people exercising this profession are exposed all day … to poultry noises. And for good reason, this job in question is that of chick sexman! But what is it? As its name suggests, it is a question of determining the sex of the chicks presented to it in order to separate the females, which are intended for laying, males, in farms. A profession which is therefore essential in the food industry, and which is however unknown.
Contrary to what one might think, determining the sex of a chick is not an easy task! You have to have real knowledge – acquired during training and on the job – and an eye for not being mistaken. A simple error that can be expensive, the chick sexman must therefore be as precise as possible. Note also that repetitive work can put off more than one. The candidates are therefore not jostling in the gate. But the sector is recruiting! So, if you feel able to spend your days in the middle of chicks and analyze their anatomy, do not hesitate.
