Valérie Lemercier opened up about her makeup habits during a recent interview and they are quite surprising!
At a time when many celebrities proudly claim “no make-up” and display their naturalness on social networks, Valérie Lemercier takes the complete opposite of this trend. On the contrary, the actress and director embraces her attachment to makeup, which she wears daily, without exception. Even for the most trivial outings in her daily life, she does not do without them, as she candidly confided in a beauty interview granted to Madame Figaro last October.
It’s impossible for Valérie Lemercier to do without makeup, whether it’s concealer, foundation, blush, powder, false eyelashes or mascara. The actress fully embraces this daily habit: “I’m the type to wear false eyelashes to go to the bakery. Maybe it’s a protection. A friend told me that one day, in a hotel, there was a fire, and his mother didn’t want to come out because her eyebrows weren’t drawn. Well I understand“, she confides. For Valérie Lemercier, it’s about constantly looking your best. She quotes Gabrielle Chanel who said that “the best beauty product is a good conscience. Why not. But she also said that you should always go out as if you were going to meet the man of your life. So, I’m ready, even if I’m going to pick up a package at 7 a.m., I have an appointment at the hospital or I’m going to see someone at the nursing home…“.
Her attachment to makeup is such that it can even take precedence over hygiene: “Sometimes, if I really don’t have time, I prefer to put on makeup than to wash. Or, I wash after makeup.”
Makeup is not just a recent habit for Valérie Lemercier, it is a real passion that has accompanied her since her adolescence. “From the age of 14, I fell into makeup up to my neck. I thought I was Scarlett O’Hara”confides the 61-year-old actress.
