For this first “Champion’s ring” in the world of football, we had to mark the occasion. Known for its creativity and flair, this young Lyon “street jewelry” house had all the assets to take up the challenge. Zoom.
Between football and fashion, it’s mad love. Proof of this is that during this final World Cup, players from all nations took out their most beautiful bags signed by major brands; thus displaying their passion for luxury in broad daylight. The FIFA organization itself has strengthened the link between these two worlds. Indeed, in addition to lifting the famous golden trophy and receiving a medal around their neck, the world champions will be presented with a full carat jewel – a first in the history of football.
Made in 18-carat gold, set with 80 pavé diamonds and 36 sapphires, the ring in question was imagined and designed in 3D by a rising Lyon house. His name? Unknow Brand. It is inspired by the tradition of the “Champion’s ring” offered during American football (NFL) and basketball (NBA) championships – among others. In addition to the medals, for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the players of the Spanish team as well as some members of the staff will therefore receive their own ring, i.e. 30 people in total. The remaining 1,996 rings made will be available for fans to purchase for a whopping $12,000.
If this is the first time that it has officially made a foray into the world of football, the brand made in Lyon has always created unique pieces for high-level athletes. Among the footballers already won over are Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo. Athletes from other disciplines are also seduced by the urban style of the jewelry house. Among them, Isaïa Cordinier, 2024 Olympic vice-Champion with the French basketball team; or MMA champions. And let’s not talk about the music stars: Fally Ipupa, Franglish, SDM, Theodora; all appear with designer jewelry Unknow Brand.
Founded in 2017 by Florian de Launay, the French house breaks the codes of traditional jewelry and proudly asserts its “street jewelry” positioning. Among the artistic director’s inspirations, American street culture and the world of basketball, discovered during several successive trips to the United States. The new jewelry champion is him.
