Here’s a good plan for going skiing with the family without blowing your budget. Off to the slopes!
Travel, accommodation, equipment to buy or rent, ski or snowboard lessons, ski lift passes, food on site… To spend a vacation in the mountains in winter, you generally need to plan a substantial budget. Many families therefore give up going skiing in winter, while others save money wherever they can and are always on the lookout for good deals.
If this is your case, we have good news for you: bus lines will serve several ski resorts. This should make it possible to reduce a fairly significant expense, that of transport to get to the mountains. Yes, whether by car or train, it can be very expensive (and in general, the further away you live, the higher the budget). In addition, for the train, you have to book your tickets well in advance, so that some lines are full before you even have time to consider reaching the tracks.
These new bus lines will be opened by BlaBlaCar between December 19, 2024 and January 31, 2025 and will remain in circulation until the end of March, that is to say after the winter holidays. Here are the towns and ski resorts they will serve:
- Paris – Briançon, via Massy-Palaiseau, Paris South, Lyon – Perrache, Grenoble, Gap, Montdauphin and Guillestre and Briançon
- Le Havre – Les Deux Alpes, via Rouen, Rive Gauche, Paris, La Défense, Lyon – Perrache Bus Station and Grenoble
- Paris – Chamonix, via Massy-Palaiseau, Annecy, Cluses, Sallanches and Saint-Gervais-Les-Bains
- Paris – Val Claret, via Massy-Palaiseau, Lyon-Perrache, Chambéry, Moûtiers, Aime – La Plagne, Bourg-Saint-Maurice and Tignes
- Amsterdam – Val Claret, via Rottersam, Antwerp, Brussels, Luxembourg, Dijon, Chalon-sur-Saône, Lyon – Perrache, Moûtiers, Aime – La Plagne, Bourg-Saint-Maurice and Tignes.
Prices are very attractive, starting at less than 10 euros. For those who manage to get first-price tickets, for example, you will have to pay 5.99 euros for a journey between Lyon and Alpe d’Huez, 35.99 to connect Paris to Chamonix, 39.99 to go to Le Havre – Les Deux Alpes or Paris – Tigne, or 49.99 euros to do Tignes – Amsterdam. Reservations are already open on the BlaBlaCar website.
