Is sport on your 2025 resolutions list? If you think it’s too late, think again! Sissy Mua, fitness coach and co-founder of the Trainsweateat brand, shares her best tips for toning your body after 60.
Who says new year, says new resolutions! In 2025, give yourself the best gift: physical and mental health. For this, there is nothing better than sport. And if the little demon on your left shoulder blows you “it’s too late”give him a little flick, he only talks nonsense. We asked advice from a professional, Sissy Mua, who reveals her instructions for gradually toning your body after 60 years.
Above all, “There is no age to start exercising, you just have to start the right way”she explains. The first step is to favor a gentle practice, such as Pilates, in order to become aware of your body and your muscles. This point is essential if you have not done physical activity for a long time. Then, an adaptation time is necessary to integrate the movements and execute them correctly. Once you have mastered the exercises, and if you are motivated, you can move on to the next step: muscle strengthening. The latter is excellent for targeting muscles, tendons, and joints, which is very important after age 60. “We sometimes think that this practice is reserved for young people. In reality, strengthening allows us to maintain muscle mass which decreases from the age of 30”informs us the co-founder of the Trainsweateat brand. As you will have understood, fully stimulating your body is extremely beneficial in your daily life.
As a bonus, Sissy Mua gave us her favorite exercises for toning several parts of the body at the same time: the squat (this is a bend on the legs), the thruster (a squat with a press above the shoulders ), the lunge (one leg in front, one leg behind with a bend each time). What do they have in common? In just one movement, you improve your posture, your mobility and stimulate your muscle mass.
