“By mutual agreement, after a lot of discussions, we realized that with our schedule and the different thoughts we had, it was very complicated to plan for 12 months on Eurovision“, explained, at the time, Alexandra Redde-Amiel, entertainment director of France Télévisions. Looking back, Tom Leeb considered Eurovision more like a constraint. “I realized during the first months that what I loved was singing my songs, my lyrics, being free. I didn’t want singing to become a constraint, especially for a singing competition which is subjective.“, he confided to Purecharts.
