Summer is fast approaching, and with him the famous sunburns. Here is a little tip to relieve the pain they can cause.
The summer season is almost there (but yes, we believe in it!)! Summer rhymes with long days at the beach, sunbathing and idleness. But now, with this pretty scenario also come the high UV clues and sunburns. The latter can occur when you do not often put solar cream, or when you forget to put anti-UV protection. Once the misfortune has arrived, it is then time to react to calm the burn and repair the skin. Obviously, there are tips such as applying aloe vera on the areas concerned, take showers in cold water, apply restorative creams, drink a lot of water, and (of course) not to be exposed to the sun the following days.
But another technique, a little less known, is very effective in eating pain related to sunburn. It is a real grandmother’s remedy, which is nonetheless effective. Indeed, it may seem strange but oat baths are perfect for calming the burning sensation. Just crush oatmeal, or buy them directly powder, and pour the equivalent of one or two cups in a lukewarm water bath. The water must be milky white so that the trick is effective. We move comfortably in the bathtub for fifteen minutes, and we relax by observing the magic operate. Colloidal oats are known for its anti-inflammatory virtues, ideal and therefore to bring a touch of sweetness to inflamed skins, reduce irritation and itching but also keep the natural hydration of the epidermis. Once out of the bath, a very rich moisturizer is applied in order to feed the skin in depth.
This technique is valid for sunburns which remain superficial. If strong pains appear, blisters, fever or even a desire to vomit, it is then imperative to consult a doctor. To avoid arriving at this kind of extreme, we then think of applying sunscreen before each exposure to UV rays, of putting back every two hours, carrying a headgear but also of hydrating throughout the day. The best is not to be exposed between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
