Michel Drucker has “let go of fatherhood” : “I would have been a bad father”
Michel Drucker therefore spoke about his relationship with Dany Saval and his non-desire to have a child. Married since 1973 to his wife, whom he married in Las Vegas, the star host of France 2 has never had a biological child with her. In love since they were 29, they raised together the daughter that Dany had with the composer Maurice Jarre: the discreet Stéphanie Jarre. A television set decorator, now 59 years old, whom the legendary PAF presenter considers as his own daughter.
Without filter throughout the interview, the presenter Looking forward to Sunday said he never wanted to have children. “For a very simple reason: I would have been a bad father. I gave up at the age when you should be a father. I was ‘job, job, job'”he admitted. “She (his wife, editor’s note) suffered a lot when she had Stéphanie, it went very badly. I knew that having a second child would be very complicated”he then declared. Before completing: “I was lucky to have Stéphanie, a little girl who was 5 years old and who I took care of like my own”.

“I’m not sure I would have been a good father. It’s not all about having children, but then you’re gone for 20 years, for life, for life”said the great friend of the late Johnny Hallyday. “I have friends who became fathers quite late, around 60/62 years old. My brother Jean was fathered at over 60 years old… It’s not the same thing. I think of the child, he will be an orphan very early”continued Michel Drucker.
Statements which confirm those already made by Michel Drucker in 2023 in the columns of Gala : “Stéphanie was born in very complicated conditions. Dany would have taken risks by getting pregnant again. She didn’t want to relive that”. “The years passed and I didn’t feel the need to have another child.”he then proclaimed.
