Patrick Fiori did not always have this name. A very specific reason pushed the singer to change it, when he was only 14 years old. We tell you!
If his name is anchored in your heads like that of a member of your family, it is because Patrick Fiori is one of the French artists who crosses generations. You may not know it, but when he was only 14 years old, he wanted to change his last name. But why this choice?
Why did Patrick Fiori change his last name?
If the general public had known him before his fortnight, it would have been under the full name of “Patrick Chouchayan” that he should have been called. A name that directly refers to his Armenian origins on his father’s side. However, if the young boy at the time asked to take his mother’s maiden name, it was for a simple reason. “At school, no one knew how to pronounce my name: Chouchayan. So when I was 14, I asked my father if he minded if I took my mother’s maiden name.” can we read in an interview given to Current Woman.
The problem resolved, it was under the name “Fiori” that he subsequently proved himself in music. A surname which also recalls his Corsican origins, which he echoes in particular in his recent album CORSU Mezu Mezu, thus claiming his love for the Isle of Beauty.
Patrick Fiori, “deeply touched” by Corsica: his life in Ajaccio

It is also in a village near Ajaccio that he has lived for more than 20 years with his two sons Sevan (born in 2009) and Gabin (born in 2014). “It’s beautiful, it’s magical. There was something that touched me deeply. Here, it’s special, there are roots. Something is happening, there is a connection. And I now live here. I live there. This is my home“, he declared in the show 50′ Inside.
