January 6 was supposed to be a day of celebration for twelve-year-old Tommaso and his friends. Instead, in a few moments, a voracious fire devoured everything he had, leaving only the clothes he was wearing on him.
It’s not the first pain for Tommaso, but this latest ordeal is striking an already economically fragile family: the father works in a nursery and the mother only occasionally; their living conditions are extremely precarious. In the absence of a family network, their only lifeline today is the generosity of our community.
The parish has already taken action, grateful that the fire did not cause any victims, but the need for help is urgent to be able to start a new life. We support Tommaso, his 7 year old sister and their parents.
