After “The Voice”, the popular singer Zaz is back with a new album and concerts all over France in 2025 and 2026. A success that cannot be denied… and allows her to earn a very good living.
Last September, and after (already) fifteen years of career, Zaz unveiled his sixth studio album soberly titled Safe and sound. Currently on tour throughout France, the interpreter of I forgive took the time to have an aperitif with the journalists from World for the purposes of their format of the same name. The opportunity to talk about a subject that is generally taboo among stars: money.
Zaz sets the record straight: “I never said I didn’t want to make money.”
During this interview with the daily newspaper, the one who in the city is actually called Isabelle Geffroy, dares to reveal all the confidences. At 45, she is calm and comfortable in her sneakers. Moreover, the newspaper reveals that she married her sports coach, of Mauritian origin, in 2021. Today, the singer from Tours refuses to be given labels, and even less that of anti-capitalist.
“I never said I didn’t want to make money in the lyrics of this song”she proclaimed in The World in reaction to performances of his world-famous hit I want. “In fact, I explained that the most important thing for me was to be consistent, that is to say not to use money as security. For me, it must remain a means of achieving things”she defended herself. Basically: earn it yes but don’t spend it haphazardly.
How does Zaz spend his money?
The singer, who occupied the coaching seat in The Voice and don’t close the door to a return, added: “It’s not bad to make money. I was able to create a festival, it cost a lot. I was able to buy a house, I made my friends, my family happy… No, no, it’s not bad”. Statements which support the declarations made by Zaz last September in the columns of Paris Match : “Everything I earned, I squandered it, but for good reasons! I gave to associations in which I believe, I made everyone benefit. I did not accumulate wealth and all that, I did it with joy”.
“I invested in my festival in Ardèche, in associations… and it’s very cool”then specified the singer who became a mother-in-law after her marriage to her discreet husband. So don’t count on Zaz to buy luxury cars or empty bottles of champagne during drunken evenings in Saint-Tropez.
