110 years … and don’t hear them. It is in this spirit that the daughters of Saint Paul celebrate on Sunday 15 June 2025 an anniversary of memory full of memory but also of the future: the 110 ° by the foundation of the congregation wanted by the Blessed Giacomo Treirione and supported since the origins by an extraordinary figure of the twentieth century church, Sister Tecla Merlo.
Just to tell the life and works of this prophetic woman – first superior general and co -founder of the daughters of San Paolo – the Paoline nuns relaunch theirs today Scrollytelling interactive, accessible from any device on Teclamerlo.org. The digital narrative, already widespread last year, has been enriched with translations in three new languages: the mandarin (ZH), the Korean (KO) and the language of the signs (IS), with a truly inclusive and global point of communication.
The video presentation of the new version, available on YouTube channels (@fspsicom), Facebook (@Figlie di San Paolo) and Instagram (@IFS_PAOLINE), contains two significant interventions: that of Sister Veronica Donatello, delegate of the CEI for people with disabilities – currently united nations for an official speech on the theme – and that of Cardinal Giorgio Marengo, a young archbishop of Ulan Bator, Direct witness of the church’s dynamism in Asia.
The project confirms the commitment of the daughters of San Paolo on the path of an increasingly universal communication, capable of reaching everyone, even those who live in the geographical or cultural suburbs of the world. “We are really happy to be able to” tell “our co-founder, the venerable Sister Tecla Merlo, to many distant brothers and sisters, on the Asian continent, and to those who will be able to know its history, a story that” smells of the Gospel “, through a communication that uses the visual-generous channel”, says Sr Anna Caiazza, superior general.
It is no coincidence that the relaunch of the Scrollytelling It takes place with the Sunday of the Holy Trinity, a party deeply linked to the history of the Congregation: in 1961, on this day, Sister Tecla Merlo offered his life for the sanctification of the daughters of San Paolo.
A message, his, who continues to speak to the world with today’s languages.
