This flagship t-shirt from the 2000s is making a comeback in the street and on the catwalks! We tell you everything.
On July 6, Michael Rider surprised the fashion sphere with his first Celine parade as an artistic director. In October 2024, he succeeded Hedi Slimane who had been at the head of the house since 2018. A risky bet for the American creator, who took over from two great designers, Hedi Slimane and Phoebe Philo, with whom he had already worked for the brand.
It is therefore a return to the Challengant sources. All eyes were riveted on Michael Rider. How was he going to write the rest of the story? And then, after more than two years without face -to -face parade under Hedi Slimane, he decided to return to the roots of La Griffe, and to present his collection in the very heart of the house founded in 1945, 16 rue Vivienne, in Paris, between men’s fashion week and haute couture.
And the challenge was taken up hands down! The 72 looks in the collection are elegant, chic and rock. Straight ties, scarves and classes scarves, but also bunk belts, accumulation of jewelry and charms even forming the sleeve of a jacket. Michael Rider also brought up to date an iconic 2000 t-shirt.
Carried by the it-girls of the 2000s, such as Britney Spears, Paris Hilton or Naomi Campbell, the slogan t-shirt is the latest tendency to adopt. Whether it is a large logo or an emblematic sentence, the message t-shirt is taken up by all the stars. Louane adopted it with a “I Love Disney” t-shirt, while Philippine Leroy Beaulieu put on a sweater “I am Worth It”. Zendaya too, with her t-shirt “i told ya”, and Isabelle Huppert with a T-shirt in her effigy …
