It all (re) begins at La Teste-de-Buch, in January 2021. A longtime friend of Constance Delaux, architect and founder of the ADD studio, seduced by her work, calls him to rescue. Six months earlier, she bought a Basco-Lande style home and entrusted her renovation to a local architect. But since then, the site has stalled and it needs help. With her decorative eye and her experience of the work, she is an ideal client. Her past choices were rather classic, but this time, she decided to trust Constance to get out of her comfort zone and dare some subtle touches of originality. Result: olive green carpentry that punctuates the openings, creating elegant bridges between the interior and the garden, and sign the identity of the place.
Keep the existing charm, but also create it
In the list of his desires: a kitchen with a view of the garden, a large master suite with dressing room and separate bathroom, a space dedicated to children who are close to them, but not too much! In short, more comfort, a found feature and an atmosphere of “holidays all year round”. In order to achieve this, Constance turned to a palette of neutral colors, borrowed from the colors of clay painting and Mercadier, who contribute to the harmony of the whole.
Neo-Basin inspiration as a common thread of the project
An extension of 40 m² on the street side and the creation of a terrace with swimming pool offer this main residence a new look for a new life. The plan of the house was simplified, with storage from the entrance, a fully equipped kitchen which now opens onto the living room, a displaced toilet and, overall, greater fluidity between the different living spaces and nights. In addition, the materials, the tailor-made facilities in MDF to paint and the skillfully chosen colors make this neglected house a real haven of peace.
