The Juppiter association has put on the way to a caravan on the theme “Freedom, equality and fraternity … against the stigma”. From 17 to 21 September over a hundred people – among children with disabilities, educators, volunteers, teenagers and communicators – started from the Termini station of Rome via Milano to get to Paris: Uin the shared experience in the name of inclusion and solidarity, promoted by the association based in Capranica, in the province of Viterbo, which since 1992 has carried out activities with children, adolescents and young people by committing them to initiatives aimed at diversity or discomfort.
Today over 3 thousand children participate during the year in the activities organized throughout the Lazio territory. The ongoing caravan is also promoted by the ASL of Viterbo (the general manager Egisto Bianconi accompanies the group), in collaboration with the State Police: the road has escorted the participants from Capranica to Rome in Piazza dei Cinquecento, while the railway police guarantees assistance in the Rome -Milan sections on the first leg and Milan – Return.
“As Pope Francis taught us, “there is no freedom and equality without fraternity”: And it is from this message that the caravan draws its strength, transforming the journey into a path of growth and shared responsibility, to open the doors to a future of inclusion “, he explains Salvatore Regoli, President of Juppiter. Which specifies: «The caravan is not only a journey to a city or a place, it is a path to a more right society, a concrete sign of how friendship, welcome and beauty can break down every barrier. It is the demonstration that fraternity is not a utopia, but a possible and real path. Bringing children, families and educators to Paris means transforming the values of freedom, equality and fraternity into concrete experiences, lived day after day. We want to demonstrate that the stigma can be reduced, that together you can build a community in which everyone has a place and a role ».
Participants are visiting the Basilica of Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower, they will make a cruise on the Seine aboard the Bateau Mouche and have already experienced a fun day at Disneyland Paris: «Seeing the guys smiling like this, with the gaze kidnapped in front of this enchanted world, is proof that our caravan is truly a journey of the soul. Together with Walt Disney let’s go back to saying: “If you can dream of it, you can do it”. Our adventure shows us that believing in the potential of each boy is to build future », He commented Regoli. «It was a total immersion in an enchanted world, where every detail seems to remind us that happiness is possible and that the dream can really break down every barrier. The looks of the boys spoke on their own: ecstatic eyes, endless smiles, an contagious energy that united the group. A journey into wonder that gave body and strength to the message of the caravan: Fighting the stigma with sharing, fraternity, the possibility of living extraordinary experiences all together ».
