A young woman lost her 300 euros on a deposit on Vinted. What happened to him proves that it is better to collect his money into his bank account without waiting for too long.
When we sell on Vinted, the money won does not go directly to our bank account. The platform includes it in a virtual kitty. This online wallet allows you to pay other items without taking out your credit card, a practical system to chain purchases and sales. But it should not be forgotten that this money can also be transferred, at any time, to its personal bank account, and in some cases it is better to take it.
Indeed, a young woman experienced a mishap which made her lose all her savings on the online sales application. It all starts with the sale of a Zara jacket sold at a price of 40 euros. An interested buyer asks him if it is possible to have him deliver the package in his Parisian hotel, being on a business trip. The seller does not see any drawbacks and sends it to the requested address. The transaction is then confirmed and the amount is awaiting payment (the saleswoman will be able to receive the money once the package received). Unfortunately, it turns out that the buyer had paid the jacket with a stolen bank card …
Three days later, the real owner of the card opposed, which automatically blocks payment. While the buyer received his jacket, the saleswoman finds herself deprived of his garment and without payment. Worse, the transaction having been deemed “suspect” by the online sales platform, it turns out that Vinted decides to suspend his account. Result: the money she had preciously put aside in her vined portfolio is no longer accessible and the amount amounted to more than 300 euros.
When a user’s account is suspended, as in their case, access to the kitty is immediately blocked. The funds do not necessarily disappear, but they remain frozen as long as the platform has not completed its investigation. Concretely, the saleswoman will not be able to hope to recover her 300 euros only to bring solid evidence of fraud and demonstrate her good faith. A long and uncertain procedure. To avoid this type of misadventure, it is better to regularly transfer its vinted earnings to its bank account. This limits the risks of seeing several hundred euros blocked overnight in the event of a problem or suspicion of suspicious activity.
