Craving sugar at 4 p.m.? This little homemade snack, validated by a food creator followed by thousands of fans, satiates without guilt.
Do you also have this reflex? Open the cake cupboard in search of a sweet treat and end up devouring the packet of cookies. Don’t worry, there are many of us in this situation! However, there is a simple, delicious and much more filling alternative: a quick homemade snack that combines pleasure, energy and satiety.
Store-bought cookies are often loaded with added sugars, refined flours and additives. Result: a spike in blood sugar, followed by a dip an hour later and the desire to dip your hand back into the package. Conversely, a snack rich in good fats and fiber provides lasting nourishment and stabilizes energy. To find the ideal tip against sugar cravings, simply follow Sofiane Khayat, aka @so_foodiee, on Instagram. According to him, the magic snack consists of only three ingredients. You need 75 or 80% dark chocolate: a source of antioxidants and magnesium, which stimulates concentration while calming cravings; peanut butter: rich in vegetable proteins and good lipids, it provides creaminess and satiety; and, finally, macadamia nuts (or any other oilseed): crunchy and nourishing, it perfectly complements the other two ingredients. Together, they form a balanced bite, both soft and crunchy, which satisfies the taste buds and cuts out sugar cravings.
Place the square of chocolate on a small plate. Spread or place the spoonful of peanut butter on top. Add the walnut to the top, like the icing on the cake. Gourmet option: ten seconds in the microwave for a melting center and an irresistible texture. And there you have it! In less than a minute, you have your anti-snacking snack, rich, delicious and satisfying.
Prepare several in advance: line them up on a baking sheet and put them in the fridge. Result: small bites “ready to eat” when you feel tired… and above all, no more excuses to finish the packet of cookies!
