The young man, single at the time of the work, purchased this beautiful Parisian apartment with parquet floors and moldings. It also had a big advantage: a beautiful terrace and a bright space including a room with large bay windows. The decor was contemporary and rather tasteful, but there were still things to improve. The client contacted the Epicène agency which worked with Archik on this project. He asked architects Isabelle Heilmann and Stéphanie Gilbert for a larger bathroom (because the shower room was only 3 m²), an open kitchen and more modern decoration while keeping the charm of the place, typical of the capital. He also loved the country style and this was a source of inspiration for the two professionals.
Improve the plan and decoration
In order to have an open kitchen, it had to be moved into the large room, which served as a living room, and was thus transformed into a spacious dining room. The old kitchen was used to enlarge the bathroom which became a large bathroom with a large dressing room. A somewhat abandoned corridor has been transformed into an office. And a room, which didn’t really have a function, was converted into a living room with space and comfort. The terrace, not well laid out, has been redesigned and certain rooms benefit more from its light. The decoration is very modern with quality furniture, but also small, more rural touches. This beautiful apartment has a chic country charm and above all it is much more functional on a daily basis. We let you discover how the architects have optimized every square centimeter and with taste.
