One second of inattention and our knits no longer fit properly… but the world’s wool authority has a solution (and no, we’re not talking about washing).
No offense to those who are cold about winter and who love light outfits, the cold has set in and cozy sweaters are out. Among the materials we favor during this cocooning season, we obviously find wool. But if the latter is devilishly useful in protecting us from negative temperatures, it is also damn difficult to maintain – a real nightmare for dry cleaner deserters. It is particularly when it comes to washing that you should not make any missteps, otherwise you risk causing irreversible damage.
Because we don’t teach you: you have to wash the knitwear cold (40°C) to keep it in good condition. Besides the washing machine, another unsuspected gesture wreaks havoc on fashionistas’ knitwear… A harmless mistake that we all make without thinking, and which ruins the life expectancy of our beloved knitwear. This thoughtless gesture is hanging our wool sweaters on a hanger.
Fatal error. Whether the piece is wet or dry, it enlarges and distorts it, especially at the shoulders. There Woolmark Company, “global and global wool authority“, hammers him all day long: you have to fold the woolen pieces and place them carefully on top of each other in order to preserve all their beauty.
Of course, we design it, it takes up more space in the wardrobe, but we make sure to drastically extend the life of this star piece of the winter season. You’ll thank us later.
