You thought you were doing well with soup for dinner, but an hour later your stomach is already crying out for reinforcement? Good news: there is a simple solution to stay stuck until the next morning and say goodbye to evening snacking!

Let’s be honest: evening soup is the perfect combo lightness + comfort. A steaming bowl, a few mixed vegetables, a touch of olive oil and presto, we already feel more zen. Except that sometimes, as soon as the dishes are put away, a little voice (that of your stomach, probably) begins to whisper: “How about we open the cake cupboard?”

So, how can you avoid cravings without ruining the benefits of a light dinner? There is a simple trick that allows you to last all night without cravings, without frustration and without unnecessary sugar. Soup alone, even homemade, often remains unsatisfying. Rich in water and fiber, of course, but low in protein and good quality fats. Result: your blood sugar drops quickly, and you find yourself dreaming of a square of chocolate at 10 p.m. The idea is not to ruin everything with a sandwich or a sweet dessert, but rather to complete the soup with a little something that lasts while remaining balanced. To say goodbye to nighttime cravings, Amandine Berthaud, dietician-nutritionist, reveals her little secret on her Instagram account @amadietetique. In fact, according to her, all you need to do is add a touch of crunch, a salty note and a dose of protein. Easy to prepare, ultra-fast, and above all delicious: it’s the perfect combination of pleasure and satiety.

As you will have understood, it is essential to add just the right amount of protein and fiber to your meal. Simple, but extremely effective! For example, she recommends preparing toasted bread which provides the crunchiness and complex carbohydrates that are filling, but also fresh cheese, rich in protein and as creamy as possible. The latter goes perfectly with tuna, which adds the right dose of protein without excess fat.

Result: a light but complete dinner, gentle digestion and above all, no desire to snack until breakfast. So the next time your soup seems a little lonely in its bowl, offer it some toast to accompany it.
