In the beauty market, brands are legion. It is obviously difficult to navigate in a sphere where we are constantly offered numerous products. To make your choices, you can turn to brands recommended by dermatologists. Thanks to their scientific and medical expertise, they are able to analyze the compositions of our favorite creams and serums in order to tell us if they are suitable for our needs. So, when a brand is validated by numerous skin professionals, it obviously piques our curiosity.
Back in 2005, a team of American researchers noticed that many skin problems such as eczema, psoriasis and dry skin all have one thing in common: a damaged skin barrier. They then found a solution: use active ingredients such as ceramides or hyaluronic acid, and imagine a system to diffuse them continuously in order to regain a healthy epidermis. The CeraVe brand was then born. The recipe for success? A blend of three essential ceramides, lipids naturally present in the skin that act as a cement between cells, to help restore the epidermis’ natural protective barrier. But also and above all a technology called MVE (Multivesicular Emulsion) inspired by the drug. It allows continuous and prolonged release of active ingredients into the skin, ensuring hydration all day long. The effectiveness of CeraVe is such that 74% of dermatologists recommend it, particularly for people prone to acne or rosacea. Better yet, treatments have been tested and approved by the French Eczema Association. The formulations are fragrance-free and non-comedogenic. They are therefore good allies during dermatological treatments, such as those against acne. In a desire to broaden its target, the brand has just launched its first anti-aging cream obviously containing the three essential ceramides, but also peptides. These are “messenger” molecules that signal skin cells to produce more collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. A real gem in the world of anti-aging.
But that’s not all: the product also contains niacinamide, an active ingredient derived from vitamin B3, which helps fight pigment spots. According to CeraVe, the skin is firmer, plumper and hydrated for 48 hours. If it is not yet available, the Skin Renewing cream will be on sale from January 6, accompanied by two serums.
Finally, there is another reason why the brand is recommended by dermatologists: its accessibility. It remains affordable since the products generally cost between €15 and €40, and are available in pharmacies and drugstores. So no need for a prescription!
