Everyone knows La Madrague, Brigitte Bardot’s legendary house in Saint-Tropez, but few have had the chance to enter. This journalist and writer lived there for some time with the late film star.

It was at her home, in her beloved house in Saint-Tropez, that Brigitte Bardot died in the early morning, on December 28, next to her discreet husband Bernard d’Ormale. Her death sparked a flood of reactions and, among those who had the chance to meet her, one man is today very moved by her disappearance.

This journalist close to Bardot lived with her

It’s from the newspaper The Parisian that the journalist Henry-Jean Servat (who notably worked for Release Or Paris-Match) spoke out to mourn the death of her friend. “We both loved animals madly. I was crazy about her, and we became very close. I interviewed her dozens of times for the various newspapers I worked for. She was great, and now she’s forever“, he confided.

And to add, on their long-standing friendly relationship: “I lived with her in Madrague, I traveled with her, we had some very powerful moments (…) Watching her films, she didn’t care at all. She was in modernity, in combat, and for years, her life had been animals. We talked about it from time to time, and sometimes, if her films were shown on TV, I happened to watch them with her at Madrague. I remember once we saw And God… created woman. And Brigitte said laughing: ‘This girl isn’t bad, she’s pretty and she plays pretty well.’“

Big rant against those who attack Bardot

The journalist, who also pays homage – by chance of the calendar – to Bardot in the exhibition Brigitte, Mylène & Michèle – The little darlings of the Côte d’Azur at the Espace Lympia in Nice, from December 20 to April 12, 2026 – does not at all appreciate that we can react to the death of the actress other than by saluting her life and her journey. Because many people point out that the late star, who made homophobic and racist comments, was convicted several times by the courts, notably for inciting racial hatred and public insults.

Thus, Henry-Jean Servat wrote on his X account: “All the moldy brains who, full of hatred, spit on BB the very day of his death are, obviously, all anonymous, all pathetic, cracked, failures (never failing anyone) and knowing nothing about his life. I piss them off, stuck in their vomit.”
