This apartment was really in its original state, from the electricity to the insulation, everything had to be redone. A window was even broken in one of the rooms and the previous owners were forced to constantly close the shutters to prevent air from rushing inside. However, this property had potential: a large living room, two bedrooms and lots of space. It was purchased by a 70-year-old woman. Originally from the region, she bought this apartment in Annecy as a second home to stay there and entertain children and grandchildren. She called on Coline de Rivoyre of Atelier de Rivoyre to reveal the well-hidden potential of this property.
Refresh, bring personality while adapting to young children
The decoration is based around light colors on the walls and on much of the furniture. This bias brings brightness to the rooms. It was also a fairly consensual choice to suit as many people as possible, because the client wanted to rent it, during her absences, through Airbnb. Some partitions were knocked down in order to benefit from the through side of the apartment. The architect had the good idea of proposing a sliding door, with the upper glass part, in the kitchen in order to diffuse light into the living room. There are beautiful materials and high quality elements. “The client knows that this is one of her latest acquisitions, she enjoyed the layout”Coline de Rivoyre told us. Born in Annecy, she helped decorate the rooms because she loves antiquing and has a real talent for finding gems. This really made it possible to give a strong personality to each room of the property. Finally, she wanted this place to be designed to withstand the dynamism of young children, without deviating from the style. This before and after contains many good ideas for parents or grandparents on this point. Finally, this project was a real meeting between the architect and the owner who forged links that have lasted ever since. It’s another great project that we’re presenting to you today.
