Here we are on the 5th floor of a building from the 1970s in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. She is an elderly person who had lived there for a very long time, as evidenced by the state of the apartment. For her first real estate purchase, the new owner of the property, a thirty-something who works in tech, trusted Little Worker, whom she met through Instagram, to review the entire property. She wanted something refined with retro touches, brought by color, from the Blime color chart, furniture chosen by her and favorite tiles, but also storage, lots of storage!
An old-fashioned plan that no longer had any reason to exist
With a beautiful ceiling height of 2.82 meters, the spaces were, certainly, in their original state, but they were just waiting to take shape and life again. Works engineer at Little Worker, Charles Hutin unfolds for us the thread of this project, completed in 3 months. It all started with the demolition of the wall between the kitchen and living room. Big advantage here: no load-bearing wall in the passage. Enough to raze everything, free up the volumes and start from scratch with much more fluid circulation between the rooms, punctuated by arched openings. In addition to bringing the electrical installation up to standard, the redistribution of technical parts raised issues in terms of plumbing. The management of slopes for water inlets in particular, which merited making a bleed in the screed to pass them to the ground. This renovation made it possible to meet the client’s desires and needs: having a real bedroom separate from the living room, a living space with a 60’s and 70’s spirit, a comfortable bathroom and even a laundry area as well as an office. Also, the entrance of almost 7 m² in corridor was just waiting to be optimized, and this was the case.
