Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni met in Turin with the agents and soldiers involved in yesterday’s clashes in the pro-Askatasuna march. A 10-minute visit to the two law enforcement officers hospitalized in the Molinette hospital in Turin.
“I am here to bring, on behalf of Italy, solidarity to two of the officers injured in yesterday’s clashes,” he said, and then relaunched the controversial security decree. «As far as the Government is concerned, I have called a meeting for tomorrow morning to talk about the threats to public order in recent days and to evaluate the new rules of the security decree. We will do what is needed to restore the rules in this nation”, the prime minister wrote on social media, publishing the photo of her visit to the Le Molinette hospital in Turin.
«Now I’ll be clear. These are not protesters. These are organized criminals. When you hit someone with a hammer, you do it knowing that the consequences can be very, very serious. It’s not a protest, it’s not clashes. It’s called attempted murder. I expect the judiciary to evaluate these episodes for what they are, without hesitation, applying the rules that already exist and allow us to respond firmly, so that it does not happen again that nothing follows from the denunciation of those responsible, as unfortunately has happened too many times”.
