The bishop of Sanremo-Ventimiglia rings a bell every day from 28 December, the liturgical memory of the Holy Innocents, at 8pm to remember the children who are victims of abortion. On January 17, the Democratic Party took to the streets to overthrow it. On the other hand, almost 30 thousand people signed the petition to express solidarity with the bishop. Those chimes are not a gesture of judgment or condemnation, but a sign of human and Christian compassion for a tragedy.

The Bell of unborn children wants to defend a space of memory and silence in a society that runs and does not see the many small daily victims of abortion. It is not a flag against someone, but a sign that recognizes pain, invites respect for fragile life and offers a symbolic place to stop, think, listen to one’s conscience, without imposing judgements, but safeguarding a question of humanity.
shared unity.
