The FAI Spring Days they are a major national event organized by the FAI (Italian Environment Fund) which will be held on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 March 2026. This is the most important Italian initiative dedicated to the valorisation of cultural and landscape heritage, with the extraordinary opening of 780 places in over 400 cities, often not normally accessible.

These days were created with a dual objective: on the one hand to allow citizens to discover and rediscover the beauty of the area, on the other to raise funds to support the activities of the FAI, which deals with the protection, restoration and valorisation of cultural and natural assets. The visits are in fact free of charge, and participating means concretely contributing to the protection of Italian heritage.

From 1993 to today, millions of people have participated in the initiativeled by volunteers and “Apprentice Ciceroni”, specially trained students who accompany visitors by telling the history, art and curiosities of the places. The event therefore also represents an important educational and active participation opportunity.

During the days it will be possible to visit a great variety of sites: historic buildings, villas, castles, churches, theatres, institutional headquarters, research sites, naturalistic areas and even unusual structures such as stadiums or industrial plants. Some openings are reserved for FAI members or require reservations, while registration also allows priority access.

Among the places that can be visited in 2026, for example:

Romeinstitutional buildings such as the Supreme Court of Cassation and historic buildings normally closed to the public;

Milanthe Palazzo delle Finanze, the Libeskind Tower and the Rai headquarters;

Naplesthe Maradona Stadium and the Palazzo d’Avalos;

Liguriathe Lantern of Genoa;

Turinthe Palazzo di Città and the Rai Auditorium;

SicilyPorta Nuova in Palermo and the monastery of San Placido Calonerò;

Florence and Veniceimportant historic buildings and institutional headquarters.

There is no shortage of thematic itineraries, such as the one dedicated to Saint Francis of Assisi, visits to villages, historic gardens, research centres, artisan workshops and places linked to contemporary art.

In summary, the FAI Spring Days are a great collective celebration that combines culture, education and solidarity: a unique opportunity to learn about Italian heritage and contribute to its protection, making it accessible to all, today and in the future.
