Despite expensive treatments, your hair remains dull and brittle? The culprit may be your hairbrush, a false friend that attacks your hair fiber on a daily basis.

You probably spend a lot of time scrutinizing the labels of your hair cosmetics. You invest in precious oils, deep masks and high-tech heat protectants. However, despite this meticulous routine, your hair is not in great shape, it desperately lacks shine and your split ends reappear. What if the culprit wasn’t your shampoo, but the object you hold in your hand every morning?

The majority of brushes sold commercially have plastic or metal bristles. Although effective in quickly untangling knots, they gradually attack the hair fiber. In addition, “Plastic generates static electricity which lifts the scales of the hair, making it porous and dull,” explains Lou, hairdresser and owner of the salon Les Coiffures de Lou.

Even more serious, these rigid materials do not respect the flexibility of the scalp, causing micro-lesions and excessive production of sebum in reaction to aggression. So, what should you replace this unwanted object with? The trick to perfect brushing lies not in strength, but in the distribution of sebum. The latter is the best natural treatment in the world, but it often gets stuck at the roots, leaving the ends dry and fragile. If you want to save your hair, it’s time to take action. According to this specialist, you should swap your current brush for a boar bristle and nylon brush. Composed of keratin (like our own hair), boar bristles capture sebum at the roots to redistribute it to the ends, naturally hydrating the fiber. The few added nylon fibers allow it to penetrate the densest hair for painless, deep detangling.

To maximize the benefits of this alliance between boar hair and nylon, the expert recommends “a ritual of brushing twice a day, morning and evening.” In the morning, this gesture gently awakens the hair and disciplines the scales raised during the night. In the evening, it becomes a real purifying treatment: by brushing your hair from root to tip, you eliminate the impurities accumulated during the day while distributing the protective sebum throughout your lengths to nourish it while you sleep. This regular rhythm stimulates the scalp’s microcirculation without irritating it, thus promoting more vigorous growth and lasting shine.

By choosing this tool, you transform your brushing into a real care ritual. You allow your hair to regain a spectacular shine, worthy of a professional result, directly from your bathroom.
