At 22, the eldest daughter of Emmanuel-Philibert of Savoy and Clothilde Courau stays far away from princely protocols. She insisted on charting her own path made up of food jobs. But what becomes of the young woman?
What happened to Vittoria of Savoy? From the union of Emmanuel-Philibert of Savoy, heir to the Italian throne, and the French actress Clotilde Courau, two young women were born: Vittoria and Luisa. And the eldest, now 22 years old, has no use for conventions.
Vittoria de Savoie left university: “I wanted to prove that I could do it on my own”
“Freed from royal protocol” as she likes to recall, the Princess of the House of Savoy moved to London to study political science… which she ultimately abandoned without telling her famous parents. “I don’t think there is only one path. I didn’t really like studying politics and I left university straight away without telling my parents: I wanted to prove that I could do it on my own”she declared in her very first interview with the Italian press. Result: the eldest daughter of the man who could have claimed the throne of Italy took on a series of food jobs.
“I had a very free and very stable childhood. I grew up in Paris with my mother, and my parents instilled in me the values of work and money. They always taught me that I had to work”she explained to Corriere della Serra. Vittoria de Savoie thus landed a job in an art gallery, while being a waitress in a typical pub in the English capital.
“To support myself, I found work in an art gallery, the Thaddaeus Ropac, and in a pub, where I waited tables and did a bit of everything”she proclaimed. A position that she would not have exchanged for anything in the world as it taught her about herself and about others. Moreover, she learned to play the harmonica with elderly people she met in this famous bar.

Result: the young woman was able to pay for her theater lessons alone. “I came back and did three acting classes at the same time. I had saved some money from working at the pub and was able to pay for it all myself.”she told our Italian colleagues. Already a model, the one who also carried out a humanitarian mission in Ukraine alongside the Red Cross, is a true artist. She could see herself as an exhibition curator or actress. Vittoria de Savoie has just inaugurated her very first exhibition, The report of Europeas co-curator in Milan on the sidelines of design week.
The one who insists on being called “Vitto”, and who is the spitting image of her famous mother, will also soon make her debut behind the camera. She will be in the casting of the Prime Video film You + Me alone against everyonewhich is scheduled for release next September. “Incredible joy” for the young woman with a strong character who seems to know exactly what she is doing.
