When he said goodbye to “Fort Boyard”, Olivier Minne kept a very precious object linked to the show. He even thought about storing it in a safe to keep it out of reach of possible thieves…

If Olivier Minne bowed out by leaving Fort Boyard after 23 years running this program, he has not forgotten this experience which marked his life. The one who now works for the M6 group has even kept a very precious object linked to the show…

Olivier Minne, this “historical” object that he kept from the Fort: “It is preserved”

In the Treasure Room, there was a tiger’s head which was associated with the iconic Felindra and the famous tigers of the fort. For years, this tiger head became one of the show’s most recognizable visual symbols. And during Olivier Minne’s last day of filming, Félindra’s character dismantled the tiger’s head to give it to him as a farewell gift! A gesture which greatly touched the presenter.

“You should know, this tiger head is historic. It was used for 36 years“, he confided in Isabelle Morini-Bosc’s show, ISATV. Olivier Minne was immediately overwhelmed by emotion upon receiving this present: ‘”This was the most absolute sign of what Félindra and all the technical teams undoubtedly wanted to express to me, and then also, there was something linked to Jacques Antoine, to Patrice Laffont.he added, first quoting the creator and then the former host of the show.

Such a moving gift can only be kept very carefully! “This head, obviously, is preserved. I almost put it in a safe at one point, I’m so afraid it will be stolen or destroyed.“, he assured, specifying that she did not “no market value“but one”historical value“.

Olivier Minne, in tears: “I always found it a little embarrassing”

Olivier Minne, who is now at the head of Weak Link and began filming the Best Pastry Chefdid not expect to be so moved by concluding his last broadcast of Fort Boyard: “I thought I was in control of this sequence. I’m not a big fan of people crying on television. Hosts who leave a function or a position, and who start to cry. I’ve always found it a bit embarrassing, so I swore to myself not to get involved in that.”

And yet, the host, who lives part of the year in the United States, quickly allowed himself to be overcome by emotion: “Obviously, when I saw Father Fourras arrive on the prosenium, when he started to say the words he said, we hugged each other. I gave up at that moment and did everything I thought I wouldn’t do.” he remembered. Olivier Minne thought he was as impregnable as the Fort, but he finally cracked the armor.
