Get inspired by this cool DIY to create a rolling serving trolley that will help you clean up your office, just like in any room in the house. Here’s the tutorial!
Having a tidy home is essential to feeling good there, but there is one room in particular that can quickly become messy, namely the office! Papers, bills, receipts and other mail accumulate there without counting. The same goes for supplies, such as pens, staplers, paper clips and other small office objects that get scattered and create disorder.
Not to mention the current readings or those set aside for later – books and magazines combined – which take up a lot of space, but also cables, chargers, external hard drives… which clutter the workspace. Finally, personal and decorative objects are not left out.
While we know that keeping your office tidy is crucial for several reasons. A well-organized space helps you find what you need quickly. This allows you to work more efficiently and reduce the time wasted searching for documents or supplies. Also, a tidy desk can reduce stress and allow you to focus better. Fewer visual distractions often mean better concentration. Last but not least, a tidy desk will maximize the use of available space, especially in small spaces where every square inch counts.
In short, it’s better to bet on a good storage system in an office to be as efficient as possible. And rather than buying it in stores, why not do it yourself this year? That’s also what Inès Possamaï, aka @inesaki__ on Instagram, thought! This ace of cool and colorful DIYs, capable of personalizing any apartment, reveals this idea that is as original as it is easy to do, shall we get started?
Never short of inspiration, she wanted to create a rolling serving trolley with a few foldable crates and she did! To do the same, head to Sostrene Grene and get yourself 5 foldable crates (15x30x40 cm) at 10.68 euros each. To make hers, the DIY pro chose a gradient of pink, but you can count on other colors, as desired. Add 4 casters bought at Leroy Merlin for 16 euros, a drill and bolts (4 per wheel, or 16 in total).
All you have to do is remove the part located on the front of each crate – except the last one starting from the ground to ensure a stable base – and drill 4 mm holes with the drill in the locations where you will position the wheels, at the four corners. Then, all you have to do is stack the crates on top of each other and fill them with whatever is lying around in your home office. Enough to clean up in style!
