Are you lacking self-confidence? Maybe this well-known beauty appointment can help. We share this new study with you.
After a breakup, many people start looking for a physical renewal. The main goal is to “glow-up”, in other words to “beautify yourself” or “improve yourself” in French. No, changing your daily habits is not always enough to forget your ex. Opting for this wellness appointment is also a springboard! Moreover, this has been proven.
“Gaining self-confidence” is the subject of a study conducted in February 2024 by the French Institute of Public Opinion (IFOP), for Provalliance, the world leader in hairdressing (the group owns Franck Provost, Saint Algue, Jean Louis David, etc.). As you may have guessed, the famous beauty appointment is that of the hair salon. More than 1,001 men and women, aged over 18, responded to a questionnaire. The result? The figures show that the hairdresser does indeed have a role to play in self-esteem. Indeed, 69% of women attest that a visit to a hair salon is a vector of self-confidence: they feel more beautiful and better about themselves. That’s not all, 81% of them say that an appointment at a hair salon is a special moment and 70% consider it a real moment of relaxation.
These figures are excellent news for all hair salons in France, including Franck Provost, who took advantage of these results to unveil its new campaign. In the latter, the brand points out that only 22% of French women feel beautiful, according to an IFOP survey conducted in 2019. This is the lowest figure in Europe. Indeed, our European neighbors have a better image of themselves. This is the case for 39% of Italian women, 28% of Spanish and English women, followed by 27% of German women. What are we waiting for to give ourselves the value we deserve?
Of course, there’s no need to wait for a romantic disappointment to give yourself a boost of confidence! The door of the hair salon is open at all times in life. So, should we do a classic shampoo or a treatment?
