The news has just been released, and it is likely to delight more than one person! On October 12, the Star Academy will finally be back in prime time on TF1! A 12th season eagerly awaited by fans that the channel detailed this Wednesday, September 25 at a press conference. And here is what you need to remember.
Star Academy Season 12: a new prestigious godmother
First news, and not the least: this year, the new residents of the castle of Dammarie-Les-Lys, who are all between 18 and 25 years old, will have the chance to have the singer Clara Luciani as their godmother. The one who will release a brand new album on November 15th should be accompanied by a godfather, but his identity has not yet been revealed. We wait patiently.
A slew of departures and new faces at the castle
Still presented by Nikos Aliagas, loyal to the program since its launch in 2001, and Karima Charni, the show will have to face major upheavals this year. Starting with departures galore! If “Coach Joe” had already announced his departure, we now know that he will be replaced by the champion, seen in Dancing with the StarsLadji Doucouré.
After two seasons at the castle, Pierre de Brauer, the drama teacher, will also no longer be there. He leaves his place to one of his Belgian compatriots: Hugues Hamelynck. The same goes for Cécile Chaduteau who will be replaced by a face well known to aficionados of the Star AcademyMarlène Schaff, who last year was a coach with Lucie Bernardoni. To replace her, still alongside Grégory Lemarchal’s former accomplice, Fanny Delaigue who also becomes a coach.
Finally, there is news that is already causing a stir on social media. Singing teacher Adeline Toniutti is not returning for a new season. “Dear audience, I wanted to announce that I will not be a singing teacher on ‘Star Academy’ this season, but you will still be able to find me there”she announced herself on her Instagram account, specifying that she would be invited to the first prime alongside Vincent Niclo. She is getting ready to hit the road for a tour across France. At the castle, she will be replaced by Sofia Morgavi. Malika Benjelloun and Mickaël Goldman will indeed be back!
A new role in the Star Academy
Building on the success of the previous edition – the fourteen prizes of the Star Academy Having attracted an average of 3.4 million viewers – the show is thinking big. Studio 217 has been completely redesigned for the occasion and, this year again, the programme could last 15 to 17 weeks.
A new status of “exceptional teacher” has also been created. The teachers for a day will therefore intervene several times with the students this year, at the castle and during live sessions. And the first to take on this role will be Julien Doré and Lara Fabian.
There Star Academy will pay tribute to Grégory Lemarchal
Finally, during the season, a major tribute will be paid to the prodigy Grégory Lemarchal, whose family Star Academy commemorates this year the 20th anniversary of the victory. Taken by cystic fibrosis in April 2007, he remains one of the emblematic figures of the program. The students will therefore record one of his unreleased titles, and all the funds raised will be donated to the association that bears his name. A bonus will also be entirely dedicated to him.
