It was the year 1924 when the founding priest of the Pauline congregation, Blessed Giacomo Alberione decided to start the editorial adventure of what would later become the Gruppo Editoriale San Paolo with the little ones, giving life to the Newspaper. Which on 1 October turned one hundred years old, the longest-running children’s newspaper in Europe, and perhaps even in the world. Times change and so do the habits of young readers and their tastes, so what better occasion than such a glorious centenary to relaunch towards the future with a Newspaper everything new? Or rather, four, because from this month the weekly magazine is transformed into four monothematic monthlies.
With a look at the past and one at the future The Newspaper celebrates on October 23rd at Explora, the Children’s Museum of Rome at 5pm, with Eleonora Daniele, father Enzo Fortunato and many well-known faces, among workshops, colors and fun.
Led by the journalist Eleonora Daniele and father Enzo Fortunato, numerous stages will be retraced during the first part of the event: from the days of the foundation in 1924, to the numbers that made history, from the historical signatures that have animated the weekly magazine over the years , to the photos and memories of the many readers who want to find themselves reliving their childhood together.
THEThe director, Don Simone Bruno, will then present the four new kids periodicals, an innovative project, with immersive, lively, multidimensional graphics, with which it is possible to meet “post-millennial” children by combining tradition, new contents and an increasingly wider target: four great opportunities for in-depth analysis and involvement in four different thematic areas from the concept unique: “Animals and nature”, “Science and discoveries”, “Art and creativity” and “Games, stories, laughter”.
Four workshops will start from 6pm, conducted by experts and well-known faces from the world of childhood and pre-adolescence: Marco Martinelliscientific communicator known on social media as @marcoilgiallino and face of Rai Gulp and Rai Play will accompany the curious little faces inside the “little chemist”; Michela di Martinor, the face of Rai Yoyo through the workshop “There’s an alien in the city” will teach how to bring puppets to life, give them a voice and make them laugh together; Irene Mazzaon a journey inside the “magical book factory”, will help create a small book, inventing a story with which to illustrate it; finally the actor and lyricist Michele Casella will introduce the young participants to the world of “storytelling”, in a journey full of emotions and fun.
«The emotion we are experiencing these days is very great» he says Don Simone Brunodirector of the newspaper since 2016. «We breathe deeply the history of ours Newspaperthe faces that guided it and the desire we share to continue, today more than ever, to affirm its educational and recreational strength, one of a kind.”
