After this date, you will have to wait until next year to apply.
For many parents, financial aid represents essential support to meet the needs of their children, particularly with regard to their education. With the cost of school supplies, educational outings and sometimes tuition fees which are added to daily expenses, this aid makes it possible to guarantee peaceful schooling without having the financial pressure which often weighs on families. They thus offer children the same chances of success, whatever the household income. Thus, in addition to the back-to-school allowance paid in August, another lesser-known aid concerns parents of children attending middle and high school.
These are the college scholarship and the high school scholarship. These two financial aids are intended for families to support the education of their children enrolled in a public or private middle or high school, as well as for those registered with the Cned (National Center for Distance Education). Calculated according to parents’ income and the composition of the household, they help cover part of the costs related to schooling. There are several levels depending on the resource ceilings not to be exceeded which make it possible to determine the amount of aid. For example, the annual amount of the college grant goes up to 495 euros for families that are classified level 3, that of the high school grant goes up to 1,008 euros for households meeting level 6. For parents, it is therefore a real boost, especially since this type of help is accessible without complex procedures and can be combined with other measures.
On the other hand, to be able to benefit from it, you must not delay in applying for it, because the scholarship application campaign, which normally should have ended in October, has been exceptionally extended until Friday November 15, 2024. If your child is in public school, and if you gave your consent during registration for your right to the scholarship to be calculated, you have almost nothing to do. “This agreement constitutes a scholarship application”underlines the Public Service website. You just have to indicate your marital status information. If you have not consented, you can still make your request online on the Educonnect portal.
On the other hand, if your child is studying in a private establishment or at the Cned, you are responsible for making the request using the Cerfa form n° 12539*14 for the college scholarship and the Cerfa form n°11319*21 for the high school scholarship. In both cases, you will also need to add a photocopy of your 2024 tax notice and your RIB. Regarding the payment of aid, it occurs in three installments, at the end of December, the end of March and the end of June. Enough to spend the entire school year under good auspices!
