Whether you prefer liquid laundry detergent bottles, capsules or even powder, a brand new product may well change your habits.
If liquid detergents have gradually taken over powder detergents, it is mainly for their ease of use and their ability to dissolve quickly, even at low temperatures. But pre-dosed capsules have further simplified the laundry chore by offering precise dosing without handling. These handy little sachets contain the exact amount of detergent needed for a load of laundry, avoiding the risk of overdosing or wasting. But capsules are no longer the only ones in this field: a new product has once again shaken up the maintenance department with a new and even more practical format.
How about a pre-dosed detergent that is as effective as a capsule, but takes up much less space in your home, is lightweight and plastic-free? It was the idea of Frixy, a small company from the Ardennes, which decided that laundry detergent should be more environmentally friendly without compromising on comfort of use. Result: they have developed laundry sheets that are very easy to use. Concretely, all you have to do is slide a sheet into the drum of the machine for a wash of 5 to 6 kg. They are completely soluble, even in cold water, and therefore do not generate any waste.
No more bulky cans or boxes in cupboards, the sheets take up much less space and can even be easily taken with you when traveling. It is also much less bulky and heavy to deliver to supermarkets and take home, which considerably reduces the carbon footprint of the product. The packaging is also fully recyclable to put an end to plastic. Everything is made in France.
A case of sheets allows you to carry out 20 washes and the pack of three cases, or 60 washes, is sold for 14.25 euros on the brand’s website. The format is very economical with a price of 0.24 cents for a wash, knowing that the average price of a capsule is 0.35 cents. Detergent sheets are also sold in some supermarkets.
Note that the company is also developing other cleaning products in this practical and ecological format. We will soon find a softener to complete machine washing, but also a dishwasher product, a toilet cleaner and a floor cleaner.
