Asked about her married life, the 71-year-old journalist and host made no secret. “Your couple is very atypical: you have lived together, not lived together, lived separately… You have always been together, what does that feel like…?”began Maïtena Biraben. “50 years”proudly replied the ex-host of Private life, public life.
“We lived together first. Afterwards, we lived apart (…) And that corresponds to different times of life. To want to really have your own universe”continued Mireille Dumas. And to add that she has lived under the same roof as her beloved, television director Dominique Colonna, for only twenty years.

“And then there you have it, this is a man who is the man of my life, and I knew that we would grow old together (they have a house in Corsica where they live part of the year, editor’s note)and that’s what we’ve been doing for 20 years now.”continued the one who was also a member of the Big Heads at the time of Philippe Bouvard.
Before finally concluding, lucid about this enduring love story: “I think that if we hadn’t lived that way, we would have separated. I admire people who work, who live together. We worked together and at one point, these separations meant that we were able to meet up and work together again, but we needed to separate our lives, our worlds.”.
